Strong industry support for Euro Bus Expo 2012

Only 3 months after launching Euro Bus Expo 2012, organisers report strong support for the show which has resulted in more than 80% of floor space already taken, with 10 months still to go.

The show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 6 to 8 November 2012, is the key dedicated exhibition in Europe this year for the bus and coach industry. It is expected to attract more than 250 exhibitors, including vehicle manufacturers and industry suppliers.

The showcase will be a key event in the European calendar with a continued focus on environmental and technology developments within the industry. All of the leading vehicle manufacturers have committed to be at the show and only a few smaller spaces are now available to exhibit vehicles. There’s a limited number of open space and shell stands still available with organisers reporting strong levelsof interest from first-time exhibitors wanting to participate in the show.

Show Director, Mark Griffin, says that there are very few opportunities remaining to exhibit vehicles. “We’ve received tremendous support from across the industry,” he says. “It’s clear that Euro Bus Expo is seen as a key event for this year. We are delighted that the Minister Norman Baker and his team have been able to visit our shows to see first hand the impressive range of products and services being developed for our industry. The recent announcement of a third tranche of Green Bus Funding is further evidence that the event can attract high level support. Along with CPT we remain committed to delivering a quality show over three days which our audience can be proud of. The demand for stand space has been unprecedented at this point in recent years and is clear evidence of the importance of the show to manufacturers and suppliers.

”Commenting on the response to the launch, Simon Posner, Chief Executive of the Confederation of Passenger Transport, says: ”We know that this is a key date in Europe for our industry and I am fully aware of how impressed the Minister and his team at the Department have been at what they’ve seen in recent visits to the NEC. It’s in everyone’s interests to aim to grow their businesses and we know from talking to our members that participation in Euro Bus Expo will help them do just that. We at CPT will be doing all we can to ensure that the industry can look forward to yet another great
exhibition.

”Recognising the drive towards cleaner, safer and more efficient methods for passenger transport, organisers have announced a dedicated Environmental Zone, designed to showcase products and services striving to meet new standards of excellence in the sector.

Now an established and much valued part of Euro Bus Expo, ‘Technology Zone’ returns. The opportunity to demonstrate new developments in smart ticketing, real time accessibility and passenger management solutions ensures that industry leading companies such as Parkeon, VIX and Trapeze continue to support this key area within the exhibition. Featuring the ‘Live’ Master Class Theatre, a series of interactive presentations will ensure that delegates have the opportunity to get involved first hand with the ever advancing technological developments within the industry.

For the first time Euro Bus Expo will also feature the ‘Accessibility Zone’ bringing together vehicles, products and services designed to offer an extensive array of accessible transport solutions to local authorities, community service and commercial operators. The zone will feature “accessibleSolutions by Rescroft” Q’Straint, and Unwin Safety Systems among other leading sector suppliers.
Visitor registration for Euro Bus Expo will go live in Spring 2012.
